GURGAON: Two men, residents of the city, were allegedly assaulted by the owner of a night club located on MG Road and its bouncers while they were making a video on the Sunday evening.
Rishab (30), who lives in Shivaji Nagar, told cops he was with his friend Amardeep Singh (31) at The Big Shot Club in Centre Mall, Sector 29, around 7pm.
Rishab said he was making a video from his digital tablet.
“Around 7.30pm, the owner of the club slapped me and called the bouncers who beat me up. When my friend Amardeep intervened, the bouncers thrashed him too, and threatened us with dire consequences. I lost my tablet in the club,” he told police at the Sector 29 station later on Sunday night.
Asked about the incident, club owner Devender Yadav said on Monday that the two men were only asked to leave the premises because they were “misbehaving” with other guests there.
“They were having drinks in the club. After some time, both of them started misbehaving with some other guests there. As I know both of them personally, I asked them to leave the club. Not a single person from the club assaulted them,” Yadav said.
He said the club management will join the investigation and give cops access to CCTV footage as well.
Based on Rishab’s complaint, cops have registered an FIR against Yadav and unidentified bouncers under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 56 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intentions) of the IPC.
“We got a call from a private hospital, from where we got a written complaint. We have started an investigation and we will check CCTV footage to know about the incident,” said an investigator at the Sector 29 police station.
The club is the same that was embroiled in another case earlier this March. Two co-owners of another nightclub in Sector 29 and their friend were allegedly thrashed by several people, including the bouncers of The Big Shot Club, on the suspicion that they were poaching employees. At the time, the club management had said the scuffle was “minor”.
